On 29 January 2010, Chief John Alexander MacArthur of that Ilk, declared that the Marines of Company A, 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, USMC were officially recognized as fellow Clansmen of Clan Arthur, with all rights and privileges granted for Arthur Company to display the Clan Crest and Tartan.
A ceremony was conducted at the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games, where Corporal Brett Sayre officially accepted the recognition on behalf of Arthur Company.
